Encino Home Reimagined
A traditional house evolves to accommodate a family’s increasingly contemporary taste and lifestyle
The homeowners of this large Encino house needed to update their traditional house in stages. The first step was to remodel their dark, cramped kitchen, breakfast space, and adjacent family room, outdated with wood walls and an obsolete bar.
By eliminating the separating wall, they created a casually elegant kitchen and family room space for cooking, entertaining and enjoying time together. The new floor plan, skylight and pantry increase light and functionality. Custom designed cabinetry, a large island, and updated appliances provide additional seating, storage, and counter space.
Next, it was time to contemporize the living and dining rooms. A new furniture plan with custom-made furnishings, maximized seating for large parties and friendly gatherings. Updated lighting and color palettes formed a perfect backdrop for the addition of their curated art and rugs.
Finally, it was time to personalize the family’s bedrooms and maximize closets/storage space. The master bedroom became a sophisticated and relaxing place to recharge. The children’s rooms evolved with them, to accommodate new interests and needs.
